Playa Grande, also known as Playa el Poris, is a little known destination for tourists. This makes it a great choice if you want to enjoy remarkably clear waters and an excellent view of the peak of Teide, either alone or with your family.

The always calm water allows children and adults to cool off safely at any time. In addition, the sand has a light brown colour and the fine texture makes lying down to take a nap a truly relaxing and rewarding experience.

Another positive aspect is that the Arico Town Council is in charge of the constant cleaning of this beach, which makes it a great place for everyone to enjoy.

Location

Playa Grande en El Poris de Abona

Municipality: Arico

It is located in the municipality of Arico, in the south of Tenerife, very close to the attractive lighthouse of Punta de Abona.

Playa Grande is not surrounded by flats or hotels, however, you can get houses for rent nearby, such as “Zone23 Home”, a beautiful and spacious house with sea view.

The nearest bars and restaurants are within a 10-15 minute walk, such as the bar-restaurant “El Ancla”, where you can enjoy delicious seafood dishes.

Sand

The sand has a light brown tone, but its main attraction is that it is really fine. It slips easily between your toes, which makes it very comfortable for relaxing and resting deeply.

Playa Grande is also easy to reach on foot or by public transport, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

Parking

Very close to the beach, less than 100 metres away, is a car park with just under 50 spaces. You won’t have any problems parking there, as it doesn’t usually fill up.

If you prefer, you can easily park along the roadside.

Safety for visitors
